Thermoelectric

Thermoelectric wine cooling is a way to remove thermal energy (heat) from the air in the cabinet by applying a voltage of constant polarity to a junction between dissimilar electrical conductors or semiconductors.  Did you understand that?  If not, just think of it as a quiet alternative to the standard refrigeration cooling method.  The only moving part is a small fan to blow air over the cooling device.  In small applications, it can have a lower operating cost.  In larger applications a somewhat higher operating cost is traded off against its virtual silent mode of operation.  Other advantages of thermoelectric cooling include the absence physical ruggedness,  long operating life and minimal maintenance requirements.
