Thermoelectric Wine Refrigerators
Thermoelectric cooling technology is a way to remove thermal energy (heat) from the air in your wine cooler by applying a voltage of constant polarity to a junction between dissimilar electrical conductors or semiconductors. Did you understand that? If not, just think of it as a quiet alternative to the standard refrigeration cooling method. The only moving part is a small fan to blow room temperature air over the cooling device and then into the wine cooler cabinet. In small applications, it can have a lower operating cost. In larger applications a somewhat higher operating cost is traded off against its virtual silent mode of operation. Other advantages of thermoelectric cooling include physical ruggedness, long operating life and minimal maintenance requirements.
